'The Road'

Thanks to Hans Bacher's incredibly consistent and in-depth blog http://one1more2time3.wordpress.com/
I got a behind-the-scenes look at some 'Bambi' layouts from the '40s.  They used graphite on vellum paper, an inexpensive technique in an effort to save resources during the war.  Inspired by their frugality and having just finished 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy, I ended up with this.

I was at Austin Zoo and it started pouring all of the sudden, but the tigers didn't give a damn.

The Capitol

Not every day do you get to see scaffolding around a massive dome.  Reminds me of Italy back in the Renaissance... man, I miss those days.

El Mariachi Azúl y Oro

A pleasant surprise at El Gallo Mexican restaurant when Chris and I took a pit stop to figure out our next Side by Side.  These guys and girl were unlike anything I've ever seen.

Side by Side

My friend from St. Edward's and I are starting a series.  It's called 'Side by Side'.  We go out and find something we both think is interesting around Austin and make art out of it our own way.  It throws us outside and we really start absorb the world around us.  We live in one of the most interesting cities in the country, so there's always something to capture.
