'Love, Emily'... Success!

Almost a year after it's completion, this very short film by my roommate, Chris Bourke, and I made it to Austin Film Festival!  It screened twice alongside some brilliant eye-opening shorts in a series called, 'The World Comes of Age'.  One of which, 'Asad', a 17 minutes short dramedy about a boy's struggle in Somalia, won the festival's Best Narrative Short.  After it finished screening, our film was coming up, Chris whispered to me, 'Kev, our film is about s**t.'  We are so proud to have been part of the scene.  It is a prestigious festival and everyone who was a part of this film is talented and awesome; Ben Wiley and his parents, Samantha Massie and her parents, Chris, and our parents, Denny, Allie Lane, Bret Seidler, our professor Ed Radtke and my whole class that workshopped the script.  Congratulations.  The film can't be online yet.  But I will post it soon as it is.

Seven Floors

Two concepts for an adaptation of incredible short story called 'Seven Floors'.  The story is about a man seeking counseling because he is feeling down.  He is told to go to the 7th floor of this clinic.  Where he is admitted, but then told that his counselor will be on the 6th floor.  There he finds out that the 1st floor of the clinic is where they house the patients that are beyond healing, and will die there.  But the man is told his medication can be picked up on the 5th, so he goes down another level...

Scenic Design Model

A 1/4-inch scale model of a theater set for my scenic design class.  Got tedious at times, and my hands aren't as steady as I'd hope.  Maybe I shouldn't have been drinking coffee while I built.  Other than some wonky walls, I'm very happy with the model and I learned a ton about the precision it takes to plan construction.

A film Chris Bourke and I shot last semester.  Denny Taylor as producer.  It was great fun.  Spent a lot of time in the women's bathroom.  Don't let that discourage you from watching.  Our actors were phenomenal.  Thank you to all involved.
